Bob was born and raised in Omihi North Canterbury, home of the mighty Glenmark Rugby Football Club. Bob was with Pyne Gould Guinness (PGG) for 3 years before joining Rural Livestock in 1995.
Bob started as an agent over 30 years ago through a huge personality (Hoppy also known as Alister Hopkinson) in the stock and station industry. Inspired by Hoppy as Bob's stock agent Bob grew to enjoy the interactions he would have around Hoppy, and it was only natural Bob would become an agent. Upon leaving Lincoln College Hoppy helped Bob in the industry as an agent at PGG.
Bob services mainly Banks Peninsula and Ellesmere but also has clients in North Canterbury, Canterbury foothills and further west.
Bob's interest include watching most sports. He played a lot of rugby union and cricket in his youth but is now a keen golfer. He enjoys getting out in our boat whenever he can and spending time in Purau with family and friends.
Bob is competitive by nature, likes to succeed in business and enjoys the relationship he has with his very loyal clients. The Rural Livestock motto works for Bob which is, "we can't be everything to all people but what we do is honesty and integrity".

"If we weren't happy with Rural Livestock, we would have shifted long ago. In this game, the farmer is very much dependent on trust. You rely on the agent to count things and to verify the weights when you're not around. We look for trust and integrity and that's why we stick around.
