Adam is born and bred a Mosgiel lad! He has been involved in the deer industry for over 40 years, including managing Invermay Research Station, Black Forest Park, and Totara Hills (Focus Farm) before into the livestock industry with Rural Livestock as a deer agent.
In 1994, Adam took on a consultancy role at Boyer Creek Ranch in the USA in 1994, and in 1996, he served as branch chairman for the Otago area of the ODFA. He has also been a judge numerous times at the New Zealand velvet competitions, where he refined his passion for deer farming and the deer industry's people. Adam owns a deer pregnancy scanning business, scanning 45,000 to 50,000 hinds annually.
With extensive connections from managing a deer stud (Black Forest) and running his scanning business, Adam found the transition to becoming an agent relatively seamless. For over 10 years, he has worked as a dedicated deer agent, brokering stock and covering the entire country, including Rural Livestock stud deer auctions from Hamilton to Gore.
Adam is married to Rhonda, and together they have three active boys.A highly social person, he has coached rugby union for the last 20 years, including Taieri in the Dunedin Premier competition and age group representative teams.
His interests include social darts, social golf, organising events in his man cave, spending time with family, and watching all sport. Back in the day, Adam was a high-level squash player, played over 100 games of cricket for Taieri cricket team and played rugby.
In his spare time, Adam still enjoys watching his boys play rugby union, with two of his sons now playing professionally.
