Callum was brought up on a sheep and beef farm in Mossburn Northern Southland. He was a high-country shepherd for four years and studied at Lincoln University for two years.
Callum operated a sheep crutching contracting business using hecton trailers for over eight years before dairy farming for nine years working up to 50/50 sharemilking of 850 cows. Callum had managers step up to running the dairy operation and was offered a job for North Otago by Rural Livestock where he has been an agent for over five years whilst he currently own 200ha of bull beef finishing property.
Callum covers everything from sheep, beef, and dairy where a large part of business is setting up finishers with stock and then arranging contracts with scale.
Outside of work Callum enjoys hunting, fishing, tramping, spending time with family, building a walking track through bush on the farm helps him to relax.
Watching people grow and change their farming system to achieve profitability motivates Callum. He tends to challenge traditional approaches to achieve higher profitability so expect the unexpected with Callum.
