Joel joins the Rural Livestock team after a stint working in the meat industry as a Livestock Representative with Alliance Group servicing the Mid Canterbury region.

Joel is a proud fourth generation Meikle from North Otago where his parents farm inland from Oamaru. He entered the industry after "a bit of a push from his parents". Two years on, having initially completed a traineeship through Alliance, Joel is passionate about the industry.

When he's not drafting lambs you will find Joel on the family farm or spending time with family and friends. In a past life Joel raced motocross but is now retired due to a few injuries. He still enjoys heading along to support and help out mates.

Joel also keeps himself busy studying Accounting through correspondence. He finds this helps him put the phone down and shift focus for a couple of hours each day.
