Paul was born and bred on a North Otago farm just outside of Oamaru where he attended Waitaki Boys. After school he went to Lincoln Uni and then in 2001, he started with Reid Farmers as a trainee in Balclutha.

Paul and his wife, Kirsten and have 3 kids - Charlotte, Janey and Harley who keep them busy with their sports ranging from Rugby, Netball, Cricket, Hockey, Touch, Golf, Gymnastics and plenty of recreational sports.

They all share an interest in these sports and Paul donates a lot of time to various sports committees. Sports and socialising go hand in hand and is a great way for Paul to get his mind off work, spend some quality time with family and give back to the community.
